None of the above Dyson cordless stick vacuums can stand up on their own and need a wall mounts for charging and for storing. They also all use cyclone systems to force debris into the dustbin and include a washable lifetime filter

Other unique similar features about these models are that they help save on battery power. This is because they have the “Trigger Switch” technology where you need to continuously press the trigger to run the vacuum cleaner.

They also have other basic parts that are similar to each other like the wand, and charger. Then there are others that are a little more advanced that help them improve on the previous models

Cleaning Heads

Direct Drive brushroll – Is the basic cleaning head on the V7, V8, and V10 Motorhead models. This brush roll is used for cleaning mainly carpets but it is gentle enough to also clean hardwood floors.

Torque Drive brushroll – The cleaning head for the Dyson V10

High Torque brushroll – It is a more advanced multi-surface cleaning head for the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and Animal models. The Torque XL brush roll is a larger and is used on the Dyson V11 Outsize models

‘Fluffy’ Soft Roller brushroll – This brush roll uses foam brush rolls for cleaning larger particles of dirt on hardwood floors or tiles

Some retailers will on occasion include additional tools and accessories for a specific model of Dyson vacuum cleaner. But if they don’t you are given the option to buy the attachment separately. Some of the common ones are:

  • Mattress tool – Used to clean all types and sizes of mattresses
  • Up-top adapter – An adapter that joins a cleaning head and the extension wand to help you reach higher cleaning areas
  • Dyson tool bag – A bag to stores all of the Dyson attachments
